iPhone-

The iPhone is a line of smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc. that use Apple's iOS mobile operating system. The first-generation iPhone was announced by former Apple CEO Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007. Since then Apple has annually released new iPhone models and iOS updates. As of November 1, 2018, more than 2.2 billion iPhones had been sold.

The iPhone has a user interface built around a multi-touch screen. It connects to cellular networks or Wi-Fi, and can make callsbrowse the webtake picturesplay music and send and receive emails and text messages. Since the iPhone's launch further features have been added, including larger screen sizes, shooting videowaterproofing, the ability to install third-party mobile apps through an app store, and many accessibility features. Up to 2017, iPhones used a layout with a single button on the front panel that returns the user to the home screen. Since 2017, more expensive iPhone models have switched to a nearly bezel-less front screen design with app switching activated by gesture recognition.

The iPhone is one of the two largest smartphone platforms in the world alongside Android, forming a large part of the luxury market. The iPhone has generated large profits for Apple, making it one of the world's most valuable publicly traded companies. The first-generation iPhone was described as "revolutionary" and a "game-changer" for the mobile phone industry and subsequent models have also garnered praise. The iPhone has been credited with popularizing the smartphone and slate form factor, and with creating a large market for smartphone apps, or "app economy". As of January 2017, Apple's App Store contained more than 2.2 million applications for the iPhone.

What Are the Advantages of Using an iPhone?

  • Security. Apple's iOS can be configured to be extremely secure. Its passcode feature enables 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard security that makes the iPhone essentially uncrackable.

  • Communications. The iPhone gives you nearly limitless options to stay in touch. ...

What Are the Disadvantages of Using an iPhone?
  • Very Pricey. The high price is obviously one of the major drawbacks of iOS that does not help it outshine the android operating system.
  • Identical Screen / Same Icons. On the home screen, the iPhone has identical icons and these icons feature the same appearance as previous models.
  • Storage. You can’t extend the iOS devices’ memory. You’ve got to deal with the memory you’ve got when buying your cell.
  • Not Open Source. IOS is not open source, which means you can’t customize iOS on computers other than Apple devices and can’t support it.
  • No Customization. There is no customization. Changing your wallpaper is the best thing you can really do. You can change everything on Android, and I mean everything.

Android-

Android is a mobile operating system based on a modified version of the Linux kernel and other open source software, designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Android is developed by a consortium of developers known as the Open Handset Alliance and commercially sponsored by Google. It was unveiled in November 2007, with the first commercial Android device, the HTC Dream, being launched in September 2008.

It is free and open-source software; its source code is known as Android Open Source Project (AOSP), which is primarily licensed under the Apache License. However most Android devices ship with additional proprietary software pre-installed, most notably Google Mobile Services (GMS) which includes core apps such as Google Chrome, the digital distribution platform Google Play and associated Google Play Services development platform.

About 70 percent of Android smartphones run Google's ecosystem; some with vendor-customized user interface and software suite, such as TouchWiz and later One UI by Samsung, and HTC Sense. Competing Android ecosystems and forks include Fire OS (developed by Amazon) or LineageOS. However the "Android" name and logo are trademarks of Google which impose standards to restrict "uncertified" devices outside their ecosystem to use Android branding.[15][16]

The source code has been used to develop variants of Android on a range of other electronics, such as game consolesdigital camerasportable media playersPCs and others, each with a specialized user interface. Some well known derivatives include Android TV for televisions and Wear OS for wearables, both developed by Google. Software packages on Android, which use the APK format, are generally distributed through proprietary application stores like Google Play StoreSamsung Galaxy StoreHuawei AppGalleryCafe Bazaar, and GetJar, or open source platforms like Aptoide or F-Droid.

Android has been the best-selling OS worldwide on smartphones since 2011 and on tablets since 2013. As of May 2021, it has over three billion monthly active users, the largest installed base of any operating system, and as of January 2021, the Google Play Store features over 3 million apps. The current stable version is Android 11, released on September 8, 2020.
